The Root of Moderation
The root of moderation is simply discipline. It is the ability of ones self to determine the necessary actions to take in order to accomplish specific goals in the span of any given amount of time, within any given parameters, and without hesitation to conclude whatever task necessary to attain the end result.
Now discipline can manifest itself into many different things, some good and some pure evil. The more common of the two is clearly for the use of good. The latter is something far less prevalent but gets mass attention when occurs.
Some examples of disciplane manifesting itself into something good or positive would be something like one of the following;
- A youth practicing an instrument daily to later in life become a successful performance musician in a credible organization.
- A person following a regimented routine of exercise and diet in order to reach a goal weight or to be physically in shape to compete in a body building competition like the “Mr. Olympia,” contest.
- A man training physically as well as mentally while doing regular research in order to one day conquer the climb of a famous and deadly mountain like Mt. Everest.
